Introduction

Svatantra is a word in the Sanskrit language - one of the oldest languages in the world - that dances around the freedom of thinking. Svatantra is about freedom to question the Status Quo, freedom to be unbiased by past thinking, present distractions and any limiting future expectations. Svatantra is about freeing one’s thinking from being constrained by all forms of Mindset Gravity.

Svatantra Innovation started in early 2019 in Pittsburgh, PA with a vision to enable students to identify, question and overcome their own Mindset Gravity. This unique ability would allow them to develop critical skills in Creative Thinking and improve their Innovative and Inventive abilities. 

Svatantra Innovation’s focus is to deliver a complementary learning program that will allow students to better leverage their curricular learning and to bring a creative and innovative angle in their pursuit of academic and professional excellence.

Mindset Gravity

Asking questions is a natural ability of children because their minds are not filled with assumptions, beliefs and rules.  All Children are born creative.  Fast forward ten years, and the same child may not be as curious, may not be questioning you as much.  What happened to all their Curiosity?  The answer lies in the conditioning of our minds – by a deep pervading force that traps individuals (even organizations and countries) to think within proven ways – a term that we called Mindset Gravity. 

The Slingshot Program

At Svatantra Innovation, we believe that creative thinking can be democratized. Like any other skill, creative thinking develops with practice and application.

The Svatantra Slingshot Program has been created to be a platform for children to hone Creative Thinking skills and learning to apply them wherever they are needed.  While Creativity can be a lot of fun, it needs to be channeled by proper inspiration to deliver the right value.   Students will learn how to self-inspire and inspire others, how to identify the right challenge and how to solve it in new and powerful ways.  Creative thinking, Innovation ability and Inventive resolution are all tools that will aid in getting to an aspirational and purposeful destination.
